IMPORTANT DATES
 Monday, January 8, 2018  Online abstract submission and meeting registration opens.                                        You must register for the conference in order to submit an abstract.
 Friday, March 23, 2018  Closing date for submitting abstracts for oral or poster presentations.                        Trainees must submit an abstract to be eligible for a scholar award.
 Monday, April 30, 2018  Late breaking abstract window opens.                                                                              For poster presentations only.
 Monday, May 7, 2018  Last day for early bird registration.                                                                                      Last day to submit late breaking abstracts for poster presentations.
 Friday, June 1, 2018  Online registration closes.                                                                                                    After this date, all registrations must be processed on-site.

 

PNIRS 2018 Schedule 

MEETING LOCATION AND ACCOMMODATIONS

The meeting will be held at Nobu Hotel Eden Roc at 4525 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach, Florida  33140.  The conference room rate for both single and double rooms is $249.00/night plus an additional $10.00/night resort fee per room.  An online reservation link will be available when meeting registeration opens on Monday, January 8, 2018.  Reservations using the conference room rate must be completed no later than Friday, May 4, 2018.

The closing banquet will also be held at Nobu Hotel Eden Roc.

**Why should I stay at the hotel contracted by the PNIRS?
The success of PNIRS depends on registrants using the contracted PNIRS hotel to offset the sizable costs of producing the meeting. PNIRS cannot meet contracted room obligations if registrants reserve rooms outside of the contracted hotel. The risk of incurring thousands of dollars in financial penalties (attrition fees) increases with each registrant who stays outside of the contracted hotel. We hope that by offering a discounted hotel rate, participants will choose to stay at the conference hotel.
 

 


 

MEMBER-SPONSORED PROPOSALS FOR TWO SYMPOSIA

The PNIRS Program Committee requests member-sponsored proposals for two symposia at PNIRS 2018 to be held in Miami Beach, FL, USA (June 6-9, 2018).  A proposed symposium should be two hours in length, and include four speakers and a discussant. 

In considering whether to submit a proposal, please keep in mind that it is the intention of the Program Committee to provide a well-balanced meeting. Although every proposal will be considered, enthusiasm for proposals that overlap will be diminished.

Please note that there will be a two-stage process for the proposals submission:    

  • Submit a title, a brief outline of the proposed symposium (1-2 sentences) and a list of potential speakers by September 30, 2017. Proposal outline must be sent via email to the 2017-2018 PNIRS President Dr. Bill Banks (wabanks1@uw.edu). The proposals will be assessed by the Program Committee and successful applicants will be notified by October 15, 2017.
  • Selected applicants will be required to submit full proposals by November 15, 2017. Applicants will be notified of the Program Committee’s final decision by December 1, 2017.  

 

 

 

ABSTRACTS

Abstracts should contain plain text with no special formatting.  Special characters (specifically Greek letters, greater than or equal to, and less than or equal to) must be spelled out.  Any special characters included in the submitted abstract will be shown as a question mark (?).  Please use lower-case 'p' for probabilities, e.g., p < .05.  The body of the abstract is limited to 225 words.  Please write the abstract as one block paragraph.  All tabs, line breaks, and extra spaces will be ignored when the text is displayed on a web page.

When submitting the abstract there will be an option to indicate what words or phrases you would like converted to special or Greek characters for publication in the abstract book and in the special publiction of BBI (to be published after the conference).   

POSTERS

Posters will be displayed in landscape form and can be a maximum of 96 inches wide (243.8 cm) and 48 inches tall (121.9 cm).  For clarification, the size listed is the size of the display board.  Posters do not need to be 96 inches wide or 48 inches tall. 

CANCELLATION POLICY

PNIRS must receive written notice of cancellations by May 15, 2018, 11:59 CDT in order to receive a refund less $50 processing fee.  Cancellation requests received after May 15, 2018, 11:59 CDT will not be refunded.
